Memento Makers Exhibition
How do we remember the people who have shaped our lives? What do we leave behind when we die? What is our experience of grief in life? And what does legacy mean to you?
Weston Artspace is hosting the Memento Makers Art Exhibition; an afternoon exploring the connections between grief, memory, creativity and legacy.
Inspired by the Latin phrase memento legatum — remember the legacy — the exhibition asks us to consider how we remember those we’ve lost, the grief we experience as we move through life, the stories and objects we hold onto, and the traces we leave behind ourselves.
The exhibition will bring together work created through our Memento Makers creative workshops, alongside our collaborative community art project 52 Meditations on Mortality and submissions from local artists.
