The Weston Arts + Health Festival 2024 marked the fifth year of the festival partnership and explored the theme ‘Take Five’, celebrating the value of taking five minutes out of your day to simply pause and reflect. The free community event, held from 11 – 14 July in a beautiful stretch tent on the beach, focused on a range of creative ways for people of all ages to engage  with the Five Ways to Wellbeing – connect with other people, be physically active, pay attention to the present moment, learn new skills and give to others.

With free-flowing tea and chat on offer, there was something for everyone to fill their cup!  From song, dance, nature walks, arts & crafts, poetry, storytelling and tea making to circus performance, Posh Club cabaret, Peace Feast and the Great Tea Cosy Auction, which raised over £1000 for local charities.

Alongside the Festival hub, a programme of creative activities at Weston General Hospital engaged staff and patients, with coaster making, mug-painting and biscuit decorating and tea parties with live music on some of the Older People wards. Additional events also took place with community groups in the town in the run up to the festival weekend, including cream teas and tea cosy crocheting workshops.
