Another very welcome return to The Sunfold for Worthing’s finest kosmic melanchodelic outfit, based around the gentle, soul-piercing tones of Chris Anderson and an ensemble of affectionate friends. They utterly captivated us at the very first UNFOLD weekender, so with the brand new album ‘Distasternoon’ out to promote, we figured it was high time to invite them back for their own show.
Crayola Lectern – kicking around in the psychedelic foothills, whilst clawing for survival in the modern world. Always working in opposites, melancholy is offset by irreverence and beauty by strangeness. A treat for those with a penchant for the Canterbury scene and a guarantee that you’ll be able to hear a pin drop during the performance as the whole room holds it breath.

THE GATHERING DOUBT
Usually a member of the hard-pop group Pleasure Complex, The Gatherng Doubt is the moniker attributed to the solo works of Scott Rimington who harks from a similar south coastal neck of the woods as Crayola Lectern. Scott describes his output as enigmatic power-pop, but considering the breadth and depth of his current album ‘Familiar Music’, we think this only barely scratches the surface of what to expect from his performance. Should be an aural treat for sure!

The Sunfold is a regular guest house in the popular Victorian resort of Weston-super-Mare run by Steve and Lana who, in amongst offering warm hospitality for Brummie/Welsh tourists, occasionally run deeply Avant garde musical happenings down in their cosy basement lounge bar. Previous events have been a stupendous, yet secret success – a fervent clientele of staying and visiting music-lovers were treated to a veritable cornucopia of weird music through the bi-annual UNFOLD weekenders. Now The Sunfold prizes open its doors for a series of one-off shows by incredible and unique touring artists.
At these special UNFOLD events, each evening will open at 7pm, music from 8pm punctuated by an eclectic selection of outsider tunes. You may need to knock on the basement window to get the attention of someone to let you in as the night progresses, much like some kind of seaside speakeasy! (or probably easier to just open the basement door and waltz right in).
