Take Five: Let’s Build a Creative Health Network for North Somerset!
Are you an artist, health professional, or someone passionate about creativity and wellbeing? Join us for an inspiring afternoon of connection and collaboration as we explore what a Creative Health Network could look like for North Somerset.
This relaxed and imaginative session is a chance to share ideas, build partnerships, and shape a vision for creative health in our community. Let’s come together to spark something new!
What is a Creative Health Board?
Creative Health Boards operate successfully in several areas of the country. Typically a Creative Health board will contain representation from the arts and community sectors, alongside individuals from health and care services, and academia. It is a collaborative, people-driven forum that seeks to embed creativity as a central part of the healthcare system, acting as a bridge between community assets and health prevention & provision.
The Programme
2pm-2.45pm: Weston Museum – Coastal Community & Creative Health exhibition
Hear from some of the community participants and artists who have co-created this impactful exhibition
2.45pm-3.30pm: Photography walk from Museum to Grand Pier
3.30pm-5.30pm: Tiffany’s @ The Grand Pier
A Creative Health Board in North Somerset – what, why and how?
Provocation from Alex Coulter, Director for the National Centre of Creative Health, plus group discussion over tea and cake.
Followed by an optional invitation to join the launch of Weston Arts + Health Festival on the beach from 6pm – including a welcome from Weston General Hospital’s senior team, music from Ozcan Ates (part of Bristol’s Dovetail Orchestra) and silent disco dancing with Disco Neurotico.
2025 is the sixth year for Weston Arts + Health Festival, a partnership between UHBW NHS Foundation Trust and Super Culture that shines a light on the creative provision that exists in Weston year-round to bring people together in positive, shared activity that can support both physical and mental health.
