Traditional Dances

Presented by Weston Keralites

🌟One Community, Many Traditions🌟

In our association, we believe that true unity shines when we celebrate our differences together. That’s why we come together year after year to joyfully celebrate Vishu, Easter, and Eid on the same day, as one family.

By honouring each festival with equal importance, we set an example for our children and community:

🌈 That every belief deserves respect

🤝 That diversity is a strength, not a barrier

🎉 And that togetherness builds lifelong bonds

Our upcoming dance performance reflects this spirit, people of all faiths dancing in harmony, showing that while our traditions may vary, our hearts are united.

This is more than a celebration. It’s a message of peace, respect, and togetherness. Many festivals. One spirit. One community.

Bollywood Dance Moves

Presented by FYI

Come ready to dance!

The word ‘Bollywood’ is the name given to the Indian film industry, originally deriving from ‘Bombay’ (now ‘Mumbai’) and ‘Hollywood’. Mumbai is the home of the Hindi (Indian) film industry which produces more than 1,000 films a year, attracting a much larger audience than Hollywood.

Bollywood dancing is a colourful, dynamic and highly theatrical dance style seen in Indian films. It combines classical forms of dance including traditional Indian, folk, salsa, belly-dance while also incorporating more contemporary western forms such as hip hop, jazz and funk.

It’s fun, high energy and engages every muscle group – making it a full-body workout that doesn’t feel like one.

In this session you’ll learn some basic Bollywood moves to get you dancing!

DJ Watson, Afrobeats

Presented by Afri Lounge

Feel the Beat:

Afrobeat & the Vibes of Afri Lounge

Looking for real vibes, rich culture, and music that moves your soul? Step into the world of Afrobeat—a sound born in West Africa and now setting dance floors around the world on fire!

Originally created by Nigeria’s iconic Fela Kuti, Afrobeat is a powerful mix of traditional African rhythms, funk, jazz, and soul. Today’s version—often called Afrobeats—brings even more flavour, blending pop, dancehall, and hip hop. It’s energetic, feel-good music with deep cultural roots.

Thanks to platforms like TikTok and Instagram, Afrobeat has gone global. Dance challenges, viral hits, and international collabs (yes, even Beyoncé and Drake!) have helped the genre break records and borders. From Lagos to London to LA, Afrobeat is the heartbeat of a global party—and the UK is right in the middle of it.

🎉 Want to keep dancing? Experience this and more at Afri Lounge, 46 Orchard Street, BS23 1TN, it’s a whole vibe.
