Take Five: Spinning Stories with Rebels Picnic

A hands-on introduction to fibre and the ancient art of drop spinning.

Join Rebels Picnic for a laid-back session to get creative with wool, try out the drop spindle, and spin a yarn. This isn’t your granny’s knitting circle (though she’d probably love it too). Drop spinning is an age-old craft that’s kept hands busy and imaginations flowing for thousands of years. Whether you’re here to try something new, connect with others, or simply enjoy the rhythm of making, you’ll learn how to turn fluff into thread.

Come for the fibre, stay for the stories, and leave with your own handmade yarn and a fresh connection to a timeless tradition.

No need to book but please get there at 1pm as this event is on a first come, first served basis.

2025 is the sixth year for Weston Arts + Health Festival, a partnership between UHBW NHS Foundation Trust and Super Culture that shines a light on the creative provision that exists in Weston year-round to bring people together in positive, shared activity that can support both physical and mental health.
