At the end of the 2023 Good Grief Weston, ‘punk undertaker’ Rupert Callender left a lasting impression on everyone with his impassioned eulogy.

“Without grief, there is no joy, no connection, no freedom from the isolation of our individuality. Without loss, we pass through life empty handed, not shedding but not receiving either. We grieve… because we are connected to each other through threads of the heart. We are each other.”

Connected and uplifted by the contemporary folk sounds of Apple of My Eye, come together with others to sing, dance and cherish. Described as ‘uproarious troubadours of the modern folk scene’ Apple of My Eye sing songs of life, death and everything in between. Some of their members also work as artists in residence at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, bringing joy to patients through the healing power of music.
