Everything You Wanted to Know about Death, Dying and Grief but Never Had the Chance to Ask
Chaired by Good Grief Festival Co-Director Prof. Lucy Selman, this panel of experts talks openly about death to get the elephant out of the room and help you find a place of peace and pragmatism.
Come with the questions you’ve always wanted to ask but never had the chance.
Evie King draws on nearly a decade spent arranging council-assisted funerals for people with nobody willing, able or around to make arrangements. Drawing on her 2023 memoir, Ashes to Admin, and her 2026 book and planner, Get Ahead of Being Dead, she will share what she’s learnt and answer your questions.
With two decades of experience as a humanist celebrant, Isabel Russo now runs death literacy social enterprise Liminal Time. Isabel explains the benefits of preparing in advance for the end of life, offering essential, practical and emotional guidance on how to anchor yourself as death approaches.
James Norris is the founder of the Digital Legacy Association and MyWishes, a free to use public health intervention that tales a digital first approach to advance care planning, physical and digital legacy planning. It is widely used across the UK. James is based at Michael Sobell Hospice in North London.
Finally we are delighted that Dr Katie Markkanen from Weston Hospicecare will be on the panel to answer all your questions about palliative and end-of-life care from a clinical perspective.
