Free family fun for Easter at Grove Park in Weston

20 March 2024

Monday 1st April at Grove Park, 78 Upper Church Rd, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 2AE, 12.30pm to 3.30pm.

On Easter Monday, visitors to Weston’s Grove Park can enjoy a free outdoors event with a fun and uplifting contemporary circus show presented by Super Culture and creative arts and crafts organised by Friends of Grove Park, taking place between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.  The performance takes place between

2PM – 3pm, with crafts on offer from 12.30pm for early birds who want to picnic.

Celebrate the Bank holiday in the park’s glorious, natural surrounds and soak up some outdoors culture with the family show ‘Anyday’ from contemporary circus artist Max Calaf Sevé, who specialises in trampoline acrobatics, object manipulation and physical theatre.

Children can get creative and enjoy Easter-themed arts and craft activities  organised by Friends of Grove Park using recycled materials from Community Scrapstore North Somerset.

Sprout Cafe will also be open serving a delicious selection of food and drinks, including toasties and waffles.

‘Anyday’ is a circus show like no other and a day in the life like no other! Presented by contemporary circus artist Max Calaf Sevé, it tells the charming tale of Max and the world he shares with his bird, featuring breathtaking trampoline skills and hilarious clowning.

Max lives on a trampoline with only his little pet bird for company. Every day is the same, but Max decides he wants a change, so they embark on an adventure together. Follow the two friends in their funny, bouncing daily routine in this brilliant and unique new show for all the family.

The show comes to Weston as part of Circus Around and About 2, a south-west touring circus project, funded by an Arts Council England Lottery Project Grant. The project is led by Take Art with principal partners Crying Out Loud and Extraordinary Bodies, in collaboration with nine presenting partners including Super Culture in Weston-super-Mare.

“Events will happen in relaxed and accessible environments with the intention of increasing a welcome to diverse audiences including d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people.
