Communities & artists create ‘festive fairytale’ at Tyntesfield Country House and estate

This December, Tyntesfield, the Grade I National Trust estate near Wraxall, will be completely transformed into ‘Once Upon a Christmas Time,’ an immersive fairytale experience.

For this magical event Super Culture, in collaboration with local communities and artists from North Somerset, will create unique performances and audio installations inspired by classic fairytales, the house’s own rich history, and the estate’s natural beauty.

‘Once Upon a Christmas Time’ will take over the entire property this December, from the Welcome Building to the Kitchen Garden. The estate will feature enchanting decorations and a magical fairytale trail showcasing the community-created performances and audio installations.

Groups taking part in creating the immersive experiences include Refugees Welcome North Somerset, Alliance Homes Older Community, Super Culture’s Youth Theatre group and University Hospitals Bristol & Weston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Over the next two months groups will be creating installations inspired by fairytales including Alice in Wonderland, Rumpelstiltskin, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Working in partnership and co-creating alongside local communities is central to Super Culture’s values. We use arts and culture to drive connection, spark conversation, and re-imagine community and public spaces as places of shared experience and transformation.
