A vision for Weston
On 1 December, we learned about the new Weston Placemaking Strategy and opportunities for collaboration, investment & cultural placemaking in Weston.
A fabulous panel of speakers was assembled to explore the breadth of opportunities for development, discussing the burgeoning creative scene and inviting partners to become part of the Weston Place Agency – a network for cross sector collaborative leadership in the town.
The panel included:
- David Warburton (Urban Splash)
- Fiona Matthews (Culture Weston)
- Dave Crew (Weston College)
- Nicola Antaki (Turner Works)
- Sam Walker (Walker and Ling)
- Jemma Coles (The Stable)
- Alex Hearn (North Somerset Council)
- Jon Walton (Sovereign Centre)
- Simon Price (Alder King)
The Weston Placemaking Strategy was launched in September following months of engagement in the run up to lockdown. A team led by Turner Works challenged North Somerset Council to rethink its approach to regeneration in the town centre.
