Creature Comforts

Please note: This has changed from a writing workshop to a relaxed drop-in event. Whether you would like to share a few words with Beth to inspire a bespoke poem, write in response to some gentle prompts, or bring a piece of your own writing to share with Beth, this is all welcome so come as you wish.

Which creatures have brought you comfort, joy, and connection? How might we honour the animals and wildlife that have mattered to us through poetry?

Join writer, creative guide, and nature connection producer Beth Calverley for a co-writing & sharing experience celebrating pets, wildlife and nature’s comforting presence.

Experience the creation of a free bespoke poem, typewritten by Beth in conversation with you. Or write and share your own poems, stories and reflections to celebrate a much-missed pet, an animal best friend, a song thrush singing at dusk and the many other creatures that soothe and delight us.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating the creatures of our homes, gardens and landscapes with you. The picture on this event page is my own cat, who I said goodbye to earlier this year and helped inspire Creature Comforts. I have also been inspired by my awareness of changing ecosystems and my lifelong love for wildlife’. Beth Calverley

Please note: This drop-in event will take place at The Festival Hub, We are Super, The Sovereign, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1HL.
