Take Five: Life in a Coastal Town
This brand-new exhibition shares original visual artwork by people living in Weston-super-Mare, exploring their experiences during some of life’s toughest times. Young refugees, people in recovery from substance use, and bereaved people worked with three artists (Bev G Star, Niki Groom and Caitin Buckler) to explore their use of local community assets and resources – and the barriers and gaps in support. The result is this powerful and insightful exhibition, telling stories of identity, hope and belonging that are rarely heard.

This exhibition is part of the Coastal Community & Creative Health project, funded UK Research and Innovation and led by the Universities of Bristol and Liverpool.

2025 is the sixth year for Weston Arts + Health Festival, a partnership between UHBW NHS Foundation Trust and Super Culture that shines a light on the creative provision that exists in Weston year-round to bring people together in positive, shared activity that can support both physical and mental health.
