Woodspring Tales

A guided and reflective story walk with The Write Box and Marianne McAleer

Bring a notebook and pen, snacks, and wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes.

Please join us for a walk from Sand Bay National Trust car park to Sand Point, Middle Hope and St Thomas’s Head, ending at Woodspring Priory. Along the walk, we will present a tale of loss and grief through story, poetry and song.   There will also be opportunities to pause, write, sketch and reflect.  Just like Canterbury Cathedral (the destination of Chaucer’s pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales), our final stop, Woodspring Priory, was originally built as a shrine to Thomas a Beckett.

The Write Box are Bob Walton (award-winning published poet, and former Creative Writing lecturer at Cardiff University) and Sue Hill (MA Creative Writing); they run Chapter One, a free fortnightly online creative writing group. Marianne McAleer is a multi-award- winning folk singer and dancer from Weston-super-Mare.

Please note that the car park at Sand Bay can get busy, so you may like to consider taking the No 1 bus route.

Access: this walk traverses rough terrain and accessibility is therefore limited. Please contact hello@superculture.org.uk with any questions.
