Loves Presents ‘An Evening with Kathryn Williams’

Kathryn Williams has released eleven full-length projects under her own name, from the Mercury-Prize-nominated Little Back Numbers LP to her Sylvia Plath tribute project, Hypoxia, to Leave To Remain, which was praised by The Guardian  as “both beautiful and intense, her best album yet”.

Kathryn is renowned for her rich and honest song-writing. This intimate evening in the beautiful All Saints Church is a unique opportunity to experience a personally curated selection of her music and musings on life, death and all that jazz.

Kathryn will be joined by Polly Paulusma who has previously supported Bob Dylan, Coldplay and Marianne Faithful. Uncut called her “the finest young British female singer songwriter to emerge over the last 12 months”.  Polly’s latest album, The Pivot On Which The World Turns, opens with the softly sung and strummed ‘Snakeskin’, which was inspired by sitting with her father as he was dying; she explains that the image of the skin shed symbolises the inevitability of not wanting to but eventually having to let go (“you floated off, a silver space balloon  up to the ether …and here’s my bent finger,  holding on to the string”).

An unmissable evening of reflective acoustics in a church revered by John Betjamin as “the finest in Somerset”
