Weston Arts + Health Weekender: Sounds of the NHS

Come along to Unit 27 of the Sovereign across the weekend and enjoy three different soundscapes relating to the NHS.

1)  SW!M75

Newly commissioned soundscape from acclaimed theatre, film and radio director Deborah Paige (whose directing credits include the BBC’s Casualty), that ripples together stories of water from NHS staff with sublime music created by musician Harry Bassett, who recently paraded Weston’s streets as part of the groundbreaking Paraorchestra.

2) Crossings: NHS and Windrush 75. From Barbados to Bristol, May Tanner’s journey with the NHS

To mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS and of Windrush, UHBW NHS Foundation Trust and Super Culture are delighted to have commissioned an additional story to join Luke Jerram’s installation artwork Crossings, presented in collaboration with BBC Radio producer and documentary maker Julian May.

3) Listen In: NHS at 75

A beautiful tapestry of voices, poetry, music, and sound recordings from Bristol and Weston hospitals created by Musicians & Poet in Residence at University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust: Bethany M Roberts, Tamsin Elliott and Beth Calverley.

Weston Arts + Health Weekender is co-produced with University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust.
