Shared Reading Group

Shared Reading groups bring people together through great stories and poems to talk, laugh and share.

“The Reader is the best thing I have ever belonged to as a group member and a volunteer” Joyce, Liverpool

We will be running two friendly and informal sessions as part of Good Grief Weston.

How does it work? A group of people, one of them a trained Reader Leader, reads a short story or poem aloud. Then we talk about it in any way we want to. There is no need for group members to read aloud or speak – it’s fine to just listen.

Shared Reading is part of The Reader, a national arts charity. Hundreds of Shared Reading groups meet across the country. This is a new group in Weston, starting during the festival and continuing on Friday mornings at The Front Room.

Tea, coffee and reading material provided. Copies of the texts are provided at the session.  Just bring yourself.

This is a drop-in event and no need to book, but you can let us know you are coming but booking a free place.

There are more Shared Reading sessions at Front Room on 12, 19, 26 May and 2, 9, 16 June, all at 10.00-11.30am.
