PLEASE NOTE – SUNDAY 17 SEPTEMBER:

Sadly due to the adverse weather conditions forecast today, @promenadeprojects01 has made the unfortunate decision to cancel the following activities:

-Vicky Smith: Agitations

The following activities are still taking place but have been relocated to the RNLI shop above Marine Lake.

Look out for the Promenade sign on the roof!

12:30 – 1:20pm Tina Kitchens & Jen Green: Sounding Out – Please bring headphones …contribute to creating a live sound map in location, and hear some poetry readings from the project.

1:30-3pm @bryonygillard: Seaweed Thinking…. a series of exercises with an emphasis on creative writing, somatic movement, sensory seaweed explorations (touching, eating, smelling) as well as reading and discussion.

You can also walk around the promenade to see the commissioned artworks installed (except Abi Hubbard’s) starting at Marine Lake and finishing at Birnbeck. Please wear appropriate footwear and be mindful of the weather.

The Call To The Sea film screening will also still take place but has been relocated to Front Room WSM (BS23 1FF). There will also be delicious Jeevan Samosas to accompany the screening.

Promenade Weekender Launch Event, Friday 7-10pm

Join us to celebrate the launch of the inaugural Promenade Weekender with performance, music,  readings and an art bar serving ocean cocktails.

Ceremonial Water Gathering, Saturday 6-7.30pm

As the sun goes down, and a new moon rises, we will bring in the evening’s high tide with a coming together of various watery activities that have been bubbling away beneath the waters for Promenade. Bring your swimmers.

Call to the Sea film screening, Sunday 7.30-10pm

A programme of films of and from the sea, featuring artists’ films as well as 1 minute films inspired by Weston’s coastline selected from a local call out.
