The Environment Agency Launches Flood Risk Campaign for Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare has flooded before and is still at risk.
Not only can a flood cause damage to your home and belongings, but it can disrupt your life and cause emotional distress.

Make sure you know how to prepare and stay safe in a flood. If you’re unable to do any of the actions listed below, think about who you can ask for help. This might be relatives, friends or neighbours.

Plan where to move your valuables
Think about which important and sentimental items you would want to keep safe. These should ideally be moved well above floor level and stored in watertight containers.

Know how to turn off gas, electricity and water
If you don’t how to do this for your property, you can find advice from your supplier, landlord or a tradesperson.

Pack a bag of essentials in advance
This could include any medication you need, a first aid kit and important documents, as well as items such as a torch, bottled water and warm waterproof clothing.
