Creatives Unlocked – Marvin Muoneké
About Me:
My name is Marvin Muoneké and I am a professional singer, recording artist, musician, producer, songwriter and arranger and a 2018 Britain’s Got Talent Semi Finalist. I have lived in Weston for almost six years and currently live near Anchor Head and Birnbeck Pier.
Weston Wonders
I love visiting Weston Museum for Culture. It’s really great that they re-opened, it looks better than ever and it has such a welcoming environment.
Weston’s wonderful parks provide me with a dose of well-being – in addition to Weston’s beautiful strip of Somerset coastline, our parks just ooze with natural beauty. For me it’s a great way to clear my head.
For entertainment, I choose The Playhouse, Weston’s premier theatre. It is a wonderful stage, one that I’ve had the pleasure of performing on a few times and I’ve also enjoyed many shows there from Naturally 7 to Elsie Brooks.
Other favourite places of mine in the town include Papa’s Fish Bar, ÕLEA (great for a night out and where I am also a resident singer) and Loves Café. And even though they’re not in Weston, I have to mention The Old Duke in Bristol and Artigiano’s in Exeter!
Weston Inspiration
Just being lucky enough to live in a town by the sea with lots of friendly people.
Weston Wishes
My big wish for the town is for the music scene to grow on a bigger scale. I wish for there to be a music venue that caters to all genres and all audiences in Weston.
Weston Walk the Walk
I would love to walk with Tony Bennett. A man at the age of almost 96, he has worked with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Count Basie and so many more of my heroes. I would do anything to hear his life experiences and how he continues to sing to this day.
