A sun-filled, sell-out success for solar-powered gig by the sea

Produced by Culture Weston and Loves Cafe

Music lovers soaked up the sun and chilled out with the sunset to live acoustic sounds this Bank Holiday Sunday at the solar-powered Loves Live on the Lawn music gig, which took place at the Putting Green, Royal Sands, Weston-super-Mare.

The audience enjoyed a stunning line-up of original, live music and ‘Loves’ favourites, featuring world-renowned musicians alongside local artists. Ever brilliant headliners, The Magic Numbers were joined by Ben Ottewell from critically acclaimed band Gomez and Weston-based musicians Alex Lipinski and Marvin Muoneké, in this sell-out, socially spaced event, organised by Culture Weston and Loves venue in Weston.

With the Loves bar brimming with locally-produced drinks and wood-fired pizzas to accompany, the event also provided a great opportunity and showcase for South West breweries and businesses.

“It was so amazing, loved it and eco-friendly, solar-powered. Everything about it was so great, craft ales, cider, vegan woodfired pizza was also amazing. Loved all the music.”

“Beautiful and very colourful.”

“I went to the loves live on the lawn. The area had zones (pods) marked out on the grass for each booking to sit in. Up to a maximum of 6 people. Booked online with contact details for tracing. Room between each zone for distancing. One way systems and sanitizer. All in the open air.

You had to remain seated in your own area with your group.

Masks optional. I wore mine. Most marshals wore them while showing people round the site. “It felt really safe”
