Once upon a Christmas Time

A Fairytale Christmas at Tyntesfield

Created by the National Trust, Super Culture & communities from North Somerset

‘Once Upon a Christmas Time’ brings fairy tales to life across National Trust Tyntesfield Estate’s indoor and outdoor spaces. These stories celebrate the magic of oral storytelling — passed down by everyday people — and invite you to discover the wonder, joy, and spirit of Christmas in the stories we tell and share.

Fairytales have long captured the wonder and wisdom of shared storytelling – timeless yarns passed from voice to voice. This festive season, artists and communities from across North Somerset have come together to transform Tyntesfield into a living storybook.

Wander through wintery woodlands and a spellbinding mansion where stories shimmer around every corner. What characters will you meet along the way? Keep your eyes peeled, and beware of the wolf — he might be right behind you!

‘Once Upon a Christmas Time’ is a festive trail at National Trust Tyntesfield Estate taking place during December 2025, created by Super Culture and artists & communities from North Somerset in partnership with the National Trust and the Tyntesfield House Team. With collaborations by:
