Without Words: The Art of Kintsugi
How can the Japanese art of mending broken pottery help us understand the way grief reshapes us?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with a lacquer mixed with gold – not hiding the cracks, but illuminating them so the repaired piece becomes stronger, and more beautiful.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of kintsugi and create their own piece. Along the way, there’s time to reflect on grief, resilience and repair – and what it might mean to carry our own cracks with us, not hidden, but visible in gold.
Led by Jo Sinclair of Crafty Sew and So.
Suitable for 16+ and all experience levels. All materials are provided.
