Super Culture, a North Somerset arts charity and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, announces the appointment of a new Executive Director.

George Densley, a creative producer and charity leader based in North Somerset comes to the management role at Super Culture from Alive Activities, where she has been Programme and Partnerships Manager overseeing a varied portfolio of creative, cultural, wellbeing and research work for older adults and intergenerational groups.

Taking up the senior post with Super Culture in January 2025, George will lead on fundraising, business strategy, people management and artist development. During this time, she has built valuable connections with creatives and businesses from across the county, assisting with partnership development, networking, strategy and fundraising to form a more connected and sustainable creative ecology.

Previously, George has worked with South West companies Travelling Light Theatre Company as Participation Director and was co-founder of social arts organisation Wyldwood Arts, as well as gaining a broad portfolio of freelance producing and strategic development work across the UK.

Commenting on her appointment, George Densley said: “I am excited about taking on the role of executive director for Super Culture and it is an honour to be part of the next, pivotal stage of this high-powered company’s journey. I look forward to working within a small, passionate team and supporting a far-reaching programme of collaborative work that provides inclusive, playful, and welcoming experiences to all who are drawn to North Somerset.

“My work practice is driven by the values of generosity, collaboration and connection and follows the principles of care-fuelled leadership, which I will strive to bring to all elements of my new job.”

Angela Hicks, Chair of Board of Trustees, added: “The trustees are delighted to welcome George as our new executive director. After a rigorous interview process we are in no doubt that George will bring a wealth of experience and passion to the organisation and build on the strong foundations already set by the team to foster creativity and increase community engagement across North Somerset.
